The Sweet Life

I have always baked. Cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, anything. Finally I have decided to just make a blog of my wondrous adventures with crazy recipes. I originally wanted to go to culinary school for baking but instead I decided to go to school for psychology and am slowly regretting that. But I wont let that stop me. I am using this blog to document my mishaps, my creations, my replications, and just basically anything that has to do with sugar, flour, and an oven. I am always looking for new recipes to make and I tend to stay away from the plain Jane vanilla cupcake. Some of the already made recipes are Guiness Beer Cupcakes, Blue Moon Cupcakes, Mocha Espresso Cake, Snickers Cupcakes, and a Nutella Cake.

A little bit about me. My name is Julie and I come from a large Portuguese family. I owe my passion for baking to both my grandmothers. Ever since I was little, they would always be baking. Since they lived rather far away, I would normally see them on the holidays. Each holiday would be filled with delicious Portuguese desserts that was just pure heaven. I guess you can say that I am trying to follow in their footsteps. I am baking every Friday (hopefully) some are repeats and some are things I have nothing done before.
